Types Of Events
To lock in the services of About Entertainment, a deposit of $100.00 is required along with a signed contract. Full payment of the balance is due no less than two weeks before your scheduled event.
The following is a list of events that we provide services for. This list includes but is not limited to:
Weddings
Please see the page "The Wedding" for a full description of our service. And as a wedding client, you automatically recieve $100.00 off for any and all wedding-related parties such as bachelor, bachelorette, engagement, and rehearsal dinners.
Anniversaries
Some times Anniversaries Parties can be almost as important and special as the wedding date itself was. And whether it is an annual anniversary that you are celebrating, or a milestone anniversary, About Entertainment does all that we can to make sure that this special date is treated as such.
For example, if you are celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary, we will collect a lot of information from you to put together a musical soundtrack for you that will rival your wedding date. Besides putting together a playlist of music that you would like to hear, our hope is to also include music from the following areas in your lives:
- the years you were born
- the years you graduated high school and college (if applicable)
- the year you were married, as well as the song you danced to, and cut your cake to
- the year(s) of any children that have been born
- the year(s) of any grandchildren that have been born
Chances are, that you have been listening to the radio, and a certain song has come on, and has reminded you about something in your life. That is why we work very hard in assembling a playlist, to include the music that you would like, along with music from the special years in your life.
Birthday Parties (for all ages)
With a large library of children's music, as well as edited popular music, we do several birthday parties a year just for children. Of course, we also do plenty of birthday parties for adults as well. And just as with "Anniversaries", if the birthday party is a milestone birthday, along with the music that you would like to hear, we will assemble music from the same areas that we assemble for milestone anniversary parties.
School Dances, Proms, Graduation Parties
Our music library is kept current by referring to Billboard Magazine's Charts, Radio And Records' Charts, as well as current hits played on satellite radio, FM radio, VH1, MTV and other resources. Also, we do our best to make sure that we have the edited versions of music.
Class Reunions
Whether High School, or College, we will work with your reunion committee to produce a playlist for you reunion. Along with that list, if desired, we will also play music highlighting the year of graduation. While it may not be a big deal to hear songs from that year that are played repeatedly on today's radio, our music catalogue system allows us to list the specific music of that year, including one-hit wonders that you haven't heard perhaps since the year that you graduated.
Family Reunions, Picnics, Pool Parties, Block Parties
We do our best to make sure, that with a mixed age group with these parties, to have edited music by the artists. We are a family run business with small children in our home, so we can appreciate if our clients do not want to hear obscene lyrics. And if there is a song that you would like to have played, and it is not edited, we will request your permission first, before playing the song. The great thing about these parties, is that you can pretty much play any type of music, any type of song.
Dance Marathons and Fundraisers
These are special events that will be given special consideration as to the rate quotes. We are more than equipped, trained, and prepared to go the distance with any type of marathon.
Fundraisers are meant for you to raise "funds". And depending on the type of fundraiser, will determine any kind of price discount. In general, fundraisers for school tuitions, uniforms, equipment etc. are not usually offered a discount. Those fundraisers for victims of circumstance, areas of medical need (such as American Cancer Society), orphanage support for adoption and others meeting society's needs, are usually offerred discounts.
Oldies Dances And Other Decade Themed Dance Parties
Our experience with the history of music, alllows us to prepare any event in regards to year or decade. Whether if it is an oldies night catering to music from the 50's, 60's, and 70's, or perhaps a special decade event like a tribute to the 80's, About Entertainment has the music catalogue to meet your needs.
Happy Hours, Beef & Beer Parties, and Country/Western Nights
The nice thing about Happy Hours and Beef & Beer Parties is that you can hear just about any kind of music that you'd like. You can make them themed with the music, or just a potpouri of hits.
We also have an extensive catalogue of country music for Country/Western Nights.
Bachelor And Bachelorette Parties
Special rates apply to these parties when About Entertainment is hired for your weddings.
Karoake Parties
This is a relatively new venture to About Entertainment, but we are experienced with Karoake. New in 2007, and largely due to demand from previous and current clients, we invested in Karoake equipment and music. Our music catalogue covers oldies, current music, standards, country, hip-hop, and much more.
Pageants And Other Events
Perhaps you may just need an emcee for a pageant or some other event. Do you need use of an audio system for a speaking engagement? About Entertainment can meet just about any need that you have. Please call 610-222-0697 to ask any questions.
Special Themed Events
Perhaps you may have a specially themed function. The following is a list of just some of the "special" type of events that we have played for (again, the list is not conclusive):
Chinese New Year Festivals And Other Celebrations
About Entertainment is popular for Chinese New Year festivals. This is not only because we have a decent library of Chinese music including "pure" music, but also popular music from artists such as The Twelve Girls Band, Fish, and Haven, but we have a personal connection to China. We have two children adopted from China. And because we continue keep their culture a part of their lives, this includes music.
Carribean/Reggae Parties
These are the perfect Summer, and "wish it were Summer" type parties. And we just don't play Jimmy Buffet and Bob Marley music. We have a decent library of imported Carribean music including from Belgium, France, and other countries.
Holiday Parties (such as Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, 4th Of July, Halloween, Christmas, New Year's Eve, etc.)
There is no additional or special rate for holiday parties with the exception of New Year's Eve parties. We have a large catalgoue of Christmas music with multiple versions of the holiday classics done in either, traditional, contemporary, or instrumental. Plus, we have the new Christmas favorites along with the novelty holiday funnies. Our library includes special music for almost every holiday whether it be Irish, spooky, patriotic, or holly and jolly.
Ethnic Themed Parties
About Entertainment is willing to play any type of ethnic party. While we are very familiar with North American music, and growing in Chinese, we are contstantly building our catalogues with Irish, Italian, Hispanic, and other ethnic music.
Western Themed Parties
Doyou want to 2-step? Boot, Scoot, and Boogie? Maybe you'd like to square dance or have a good old fashioned "ho down". While we can't supply the mechanical bull, we do have a lot of country western favorites in our music catalogue.
Polka Parties
Beer Barrel Polka, Pennsylvania Polka, Apple Peaches Pumpkin Polka, and more. Just a few of the many polka titles that we have in our music library.

The pricing for your event will depend on the type of event. The following prices are effective as of January 1, 2008 and are subject to change.

Fundraisers
Pricing for fundraisers depends on the type of fundraiser. However, the prices will not exceed the prices listed under "Private Parties And School Functions". The discount offered is based on the type of fundraiser. Please call About Entertainment at 610-222-0697 for this type of quote.

With the exception of New Year's Eve, About Entertainment does not charge anything extra, nor raise its rates for seasonal and holiday parties. For New Year's Eve, refer to our "Wedding" rates.
